Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in early FY26. Canada's rivers and lakes provide almost a quarter of the world's freshwater and its dense carbon-storing forests guard against climate change. Today, a constellation of economic, environmental and political forces have aligned to create conservation opportunities on a scale almost unimaginable anywhere else in the world.

We are tackling global challenges with local action in Canada by:

  • Creating networks of protected areas and comprehensive land-use plans that implement recent historic conservation agreements in the Great Bear Rainforest and the Boreal Forest.
  • Empowering local First Nation communities to sustainably manage their surrounding natural resources.
  • Seeking solutions for people and nature with a focus on durable and sustained conservation.
