Project(s) - applied Habitat Protection and Restoration

Bahamas

Habitat protection and restoration projects across The Nature Conservancy have connected the organization to local communities and cultures.  In the Caribbean, mangrove and coral reef restoration activities are currently helping to restore these threatened habitats for nature and for the millions of people that depend on healthy reefs and mangroves for their many ecological, economic, and cultural benefits.  The Conservancy’s philosophy of science that guides conservation is evident in each of its habitat restoration projects, which has lead to high rates of success as well as best management practices that have been adopted by external organizations and partners.
