The major challenges we face in Oregon echo our global predicament: Ocean and estuary habitats diminished and depleted of fish; escalating demands for fresh water; forests increasingly unhealthy and subject to unnaturally severe fire; energy siting that disrupts critical wildlife areas; irreplaceable natural areas in the path of development; a changing climate with impacts that will be pervasive. Our work in Oregon is organized around five initiatives: Marine, Freshwater, Forests, Deserts, and Grasslands.  Science and planning staff assist the initiatives in identifying solutions to our most pressing conservation issues, evaluating threats, defining conservation outcomes, setting priorities and developing and testing best conservation and restoration strategies.

This site contains a variety of information relevant to the Conservancy’s conservation work across the state including scientific reports, maps, plans and assessments produced by Oregon’s staff, often in partnership with other organizations and agencies. In addition we provide geospatial and other data to enable partners or anyone working to conserve Oregon’s lands and waters information which may be useful in advancing that cause.
