Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in early FY26. Planning the Best Future Possible

The State of Oregon set ambitious goals to protect sage-grouse and improve habitat condition across the sagebrush sea at a critical time in federal decision-making about invoking the Endangered Species Act protections for sage-grouse.  The Oregon Sage-Grouse Action Plan provides a cooperative road map for both public and private land conservation efforts. TNC has worked with the state each step of the way to create and share the tools needed to accomplish this work.

TNC led the creation of an interactive, computer-based system designed to assist decision making by analyzing habitat conditions and management problems. TNC produced over 30 comprehensive datasets to understand the condition and potential of our sagebrush-steppe ecosystem. These datasets are now available to everyone via the Oregon Explorer website.

We are helping to develop additional tools to support the mitigation, development and restoration goals of the Oregon Sage-Grouse Action Plan.

Some of our latest Oregon Sage-grouse Action Plan work is highlighted to the right. For a complete list of all our work on the Gateway, go to our resources page.
