 FLN Networker No. 349

4/19/2023

Issue #349 (19 April 2023) of the FLN Networker. This issue includes news from California, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina and Tennessee. There are three funding and support announcements—regarding wildfire smoke preparedness (EPA), community engagement and stewardship (National Forest Foundation), and CWPP assistance (IAFC)—and two surveys, of prescribed fire training needs in the U.S. West, and of TREX participants. Also included are links to a blog post on creating consistent messaging; NWCG first aid standards; materials for planning a RT-130 refresher course; an article on fire spread from wood piles to structures; a synthesis on wildfire managed for resource benefit; a report on how fuel treatments are considered during wildfire response; and a couple of pieces on the EPA's proposed PM2.5 rule change.  As always, listings are included for jobs, webinars, Prescribed Fire Training Exchanges, and workshop and training opportunities.
