The Wyoming Basins Ecoregional Plan

link VIEW LINK: Link

This document presents a paradigm for conservation in western states that diverges from the traditional strategy of "reserve design." This strategy draws on partnerships with ranchers, agency personnel and other landowners interested in conservation, and uses the tools of conservations easements, agency designations and coordinated resource management plan to encourage conservation and compatible human activities. It also describes a "coarse filter" and "fine filter" approach to identifying where important communities occur and where rare plants and animals, respectively, are of concern.
