Getting the Word Out: Preparation Key to Media Success for Prescribed Fire Training Exchange

FLN Notes from the Field are brief updates on activities from the Fire Learning Network. This issue (#30) summarizes the media outreach successes of the international prescribed fire training exchange (TREX) held in New Mexico in September-October 2012. It highlights some lessons learned that are applicable to fire practitioners. Includes a list of media placements for the event, ranging from local radio to a New York Times blog entry.
