We live in an age of unprecedented threats to our natural world and unprecedented opportunities to safeguard it. Our growing needs for food, water and energy and a rapidly changing climate are straining the natural systems on which natural diversity, human health and prosperity depend. We need solutions that significantly improve the health of globally important natural systems that enhance the lives of people around the world.

In response to this need, The Nature Conservancy’s investments and expertise will be increasingly focused on a set of priorities that bring solutions to the world’s global challenges. In the next decade, we will demonstrate that conservation is essential to making people’s lives better and we accelerate efforts to restore and protect large ecological systems, like major rivers and water basins, oceans, forests and Earth’s climate.
