IUCN and the Conservation Measures Partnership (CMP) have produced a set of standard classifications of direct threats that conservationists encounter worldwide and of the conservation actions that they can take to counter these threats. The idea is to enhance cross-project learning and the ability to meaningfully roll-up information across projects, as practitioners use this common nomenclature to describe the problems they are facing and the solutions they are using.
We invite you to explore an online version of the Threats Taxonomy, and the Conservation Actions Taxonomy , or download the Standard Lexicon for Biodiversity Conservation: Unified Classifications of Threats and Actions.
