Meetings among representatives from Hawaii’s Department of Land & Natural Resources, Division of Forestry & Wildlife, US Geological Survey and University of Hawaii at Hilo were held August–December 2009. This report focuses on lessons learned from the analysis and use of LANDFIRE data; opportunities for future improvement of LANDFIRE’s EVT layer; identification of fire-suppression priority areas for biodiversity protection (HIMED-LOW) for strategies like hazardous fuel reduction and ecosystem integrity restoration; and identification of biodiversity conservation priority areas (HI-MED-LOW).
