Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in late 2024. Enhancing Ecosystem Resilience of Riparian/Wetland Habitats in the Upper Gunnison Basin, Colorado: Report to Colorado Parks and Wildlife

This report for Colorado Parks and Wildlife details restoration project accomplishments in the Gunnison Basin that were funded by the Colorado Wetlands for Wildlife Program.  The restoration project was designed to increase resilience of riparian and wet meadow habitats to help the Gunnison Sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus) and other wildlife species adapt to a changing climate.  This project demonstrates simple and effective tools for increasing hydrologic and ecologic function of wet meadow and riparian habitats. A total of 68 acres along 14.5 stream miles at five priority sites were treated from 2012-2014. The project team is currently working to scale-up the project across the basin.
