Understanding where salmon habitat is located is essential for helping Mat-Su residents make sustainable decisions about land and water use that will minimize impacts to salmon. We are doing this by updating stream maps for the basin, modeling salmon habitat, and analyzing river flows and salmon habitat that would be changed by hydropower.
