Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in early FY26. The Nature Conservancy in Nevada developed the Landscape Conservation ForecastingTM (LCF) methodology that uses remotely-sensed vegetation map layers, scenario-based state-and-transition simulation models of ecological systems, and metrics of success. LCF can forecast how simulated activities and environmental changes might impact the departure from desired future conditions in mapped ecological systems. TNC-Nevada has used LCF to consider climate change impacts, fire management, range management, sage grouse habitat conservation, federally-listed Utah prairie dog habitat conservation, and other landscape dynamics.
