Loess Hills Cooperative Burn Week
March 19-23, 2018
This event, sponsored by the Loess Hills Fire Partners, provided
an opportunity for partners join together to achieve fire management in an area
where extra hands or resources were needed to accomplish the work at scale. It was
also an opportunity to build relationships, share knowledge and skills, and
work within a more complex organizational structure than usual through
utilization of the Incident Command System. An NWCG S-211 Portable Pumps and Water
Usage course (which incorporated both classroom and hands-on time focusing on
water delivery and appliances) was also integrated into the week.
This summary gives an overview of the week, and appendixes
have lists of partner agencies and burn units completed, as well as photos from the event.
