Understanding baseline water quality in Bristol Bay, as well as the impacts of water quality issues on salmon, remains essential to evaluating the impacts of development activities such as mining on salmon populations. The Nature Conservancy has worked to document various water quality parameters in the region, as well as performed literature reviews and modeling exercises to understand potential impacts of mining on water quality, and water quality changes on salmon.
