Grasslands are the least protected habitat type in Oregon and around the world. At both the
Zumwalt Prairie and Willamette Valley, we are working to change that. From researching the impacts of cattle grazing on the grassland food web at Zumwalt to restoring fire through controlled burning, The Nature Conservancy is pioneering techniques for restoring Oregon’s native grasslands, bunchgrass prairie and oak savanna.
