The Conservation Science and Planning Program of the Conservancy's Oregon Chapter provides advice, information and expertise to both inform and guide TNC’s conservation work in Oregon. We provide science, planning and GIS support to each of the chapter’s conservation Initiatives – Grasslands, Marine, Freshwater, Forests, and Deserts. Working collaboratively with agency and other conservation partners we have focused efforts on planning (ecoregional assessments, Development by Design, grazing management tracking and assessment), climate change (resilient landscapes in the Pacific Northwest, site planning adaptation), habitat fragmentation (sage grouse fence collision mapping, fish passage, habitat and species connectivity modeling) and invasive species (juniper invasion, invasive annual grass, early detection and rapid response networks).
